Good Quality VS Poor Quality Sticky Mat

We distinguish a good quality sticky mat from a poor one mainly from two aspects: the appearance and the performance. Let’s elaborate it one by one.

From appearance

(1) Size and thickness

It is rational that there is tolerance in the size and thickness of sticky mats during production. The value recognized by the industry is +/-0.5cm for the size and +/-0.003mm for sheet thickness. A qualified sticky mat should fall into that tolerance range.

(2) smooth vs crease surface

Although the smoothness of the surface has no effect on the performance of sticky mats, it does reflect the level of the production techniques of a manufacturer. A manufacturer with mature production techniques not only produces sticky mats of high performance but also guarantees that all the mats look nice. (3) white dots?

Sticky mat, from polymer resin to finished product, is formed in a very short time. Due to the production techniques, there will be air bubbles left in the sheets of the mat. They look like white dots scattering inside the mats. If there are plenty of dots, sticky mats will not look attractive. What’s more, too many dots will weaken the tacky capacity of the mats.

By adopting an exclusive technique, we eliminate the dots to a minimum extent.

From performance

(1) tackiness

It is well known that tackiness is one of the key factors which determine the function of sticky mats.

A good quality sticky mat should be of just right tackiness. If a sticky mat is not tacky enough, it may bring about negative results in two aspects: firstly, the bottom double-sided adhesive sheet cannot adhere firmly to floor. When people walk on the mat, it is quite easy to pull up the whole mat with the shoes. Secondly, if the disposable sheets are not sticky enough, it will cast a shadow over the dust-removing efficiency of the mat.

However, too much is as bad as too little. If the mat is too sticky, the adhesion between the mat and shoe soles is strong, which makes it less easy to walk through the mat.

(2) durable?

Sticky mats of inferior quality are easy to torn. Imaging that when you finish one sheet, try to peel it off and expose a new one, suddenly, it is broken. What a very frustrating experience!
